Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for this interesting question.
The ear canal, also called the external acoustic meatus, is a passage comprised of bone and skin leading to the eardrum. The ear is comprised of the ear canal (also known as the outer ear), the middle ear, and the inner ear.
In appearance, it has straight sides. Someone with a twisted ear canal would have an ear canal that is marked with twists or bends. This condition can be the cause of ear-wax buildup.
