Dear Abby:

When she told me that she thought she was having problems with her memory, my first impulse was just to reassure her because she thought that she was becoming insane, and I tried to tell her very straight, without using the word "Alzheimer’s" that she was having problems with her memory and she was a brilliant person and probably the most brilliant woman I would ever know.
