Dr. Steinmann:

No, not really because you have to look at the amount of time that actually, and the weight that that’s involved in and very interesting, it’s very interesting that shoulder arthritis I treat equally on women and men, left and right, and of course most women carry their purse on one shoulder rather than the other and so you would think that I would treat more right sided shoulder arthritis, but I don’t. So clearly it hasn’t had much impact at all.

Dr. Scott P. Steinmann, M.D., is on orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center in Minnesota. Dr. Steinmann received his medical training from Cornell University Medical College in New York, completed his residency in orthopedics at New York Orthopedic Hospital and completed a fellowships focusing on the shoulder and hand surgery from Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and Mayo Graduate School of Medicine respectively.
