There is some genetic predisposition. So it could be that you are going to be at a little higher risk of arthritis if your mother had it and your grandmother had it because you may have a genetic predisposition to that.

She joined the orthopedic surgery staff at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida in 1991, and since 2005 has served as department chair.
