Alcohol doesn’t trigger an
asthma attack directly, but alcohol, as it does for everybody, kind of slows and suppresses your immune system. And so it puts me in a position where I can be more likely to have an
asthma attack if other factors are involved. Like if I have been drinking and I do something strenuous, I am going to be a lot more inclined to have an asthmatic response. The alcohol itself doesn’t trigger it; it just creates a situation in which it’s easier to have a trigger.
