Gastric Bypass Surgery: Did It Improve Your Health? (VIDEO)
3 of 4 : Current video

Hattie describes how she feels when looking at old photographs of herself when she was obese and how her health improved after gastric bypass surgery.

Hattie:
I can’t believe it’s me. I asked my family, why didn’t you guys tell me because I couldn’t see it. I knew I was overweight, but I guess I just couldn’t see it.

I started out with high blood pressure; that has improved very much, no medications. I had back pain, my breasts were very large, shoulder-neck pain, ankles, feet–everything hurt. I could hardly walk. I could not walk a long distance. I was very short-breathed.

Now, like I said, I am very physically fit. I can run, walk, climb stairs, do anything that I want to do now, not limited, ride on a roller coaster.

I just watched the video of my friend Hattie, and I can tell you that the person you see in the video is a much more healthy person. She is now my insperation to have the same surgery done for myself. She has given me so much information about the different types of surgeries and about everything that she has gone through. She is just a very lovely person....and a very snazzy dresser now. She comes in to work wearing all these very fashionable clothes now and wearing high heels...I knew her when she was larger and I know her now that she is more than half the person she is now and I know for a fact that she is a much happier person since losing the weight. SHE LOOKS GREAT.
