Laura recalls the changes to her self-image after undergoing gastric bypass surgery.
Laura:
Now that I have lost the weight, that is one of the hardest things that I have had to struggle with is your image. You still have the image of being a heavy person. It’s very hard to take compliments. When people compliment you, it’s very hard to believe because you still have the mindset that you are a heavy person. I look in the mirror and I see a thinner person, but it will always be in the back of my mind the heavy person that I used to be.
Since I have lost the 76 pounds, I do feel sexier in a confident way. The confidence is what is making me feel sexier, and the positiveness is making me feel sexier, and the clothes you can wear now make you feel sexier.
