Dr. Shaw:

A vein therapy has multiple modalities for correction. The gold standard in the past was sclerotherapy, which is an injection of hypertonic saline or other sclerosing agents into vessels of the legs.

In recent days, there have been advances in laser vein removal with the YAG laser or 1064 nanometers of wavelength. This can be performed on any skin type and is good for even larger veins than this sclerotherapy can treat.

A new device that has recently been FDA approved in the United States is the VeinWave, effectively eradicating those small vessels around the nose with microwave technology.
