Dr. Mullis:

It is; that’s a common concern amongst women. No matter how bad the fracture is, the good news is, many times women can still have a child. The question is whether they can still have a normal or vaginal delivery versus a C-section, and sometimes if the pelvis has been fractured or distorted, it would be unsafe to have a normal delivery. And that decision is usually made by the obstetrician, OB/GYN doctor, many times in association with the orthopedic trauma surgeon.
