Francine recalls how she strengthened her gluteus medius, the muscle that rotates the hip, after hip replacement surgery.
Francine:
I started out by taking physical therapy. They send physical therapy to your home as soon as you come home, and I started with the physical therapy that involved minor exercises on the bed, and then exercises up and walking around the house. And then, I started going, after about a week when I could drive, I started going to a physical therapist, and we worked constantly on the gluteus medius but, I found that not all physical therapists are alike.
