Well, for one thing, I knew from yoga that the most important thing was the breath, and that I could control a lot of what I was feeling in terms of anxiety by focusing on the breath. So that was another thing, and the other thing that yoga teaches you is oneness with the universe and trust and once I chose Janet Whirlow, my surgeon, I totally trusted her and I allowed myself to go there. I am very skeptical of doctors and I knew that it’s probably not a good idea when you are having surgery to be skeptical about the doctor, so I allowed myself to trust her.
