Francine explains if she is concerned about dislocated her new hip since receiving her hip replacement.
Francine:
First of all, my hip replacement surgeon told me that if I followed the instructions for the first six months, I probably wouldn’t. She also told me that if I did all the rehab, I probably wouldn’t. And she also told me that some people just do and some people just don’t. And I also said to her, “I want to go back to all of my previous activities,” and I told her what those were. And she ordered me a little bit fatter joint than they order, and it’s a little tighter fit than they usually do, and the reason for that is so that there’s less chance of dislocation.
But, there are certain things that I don’t do. I don’t do high impact things. I don’t do, you know, wild, internal rotations of my left hip, and I am just a little careful to listen to my body.
