Dr. O'Connor explains who is a candidate for hip replacement surgery.

Dr. O'Connor:
The woman who is a candidate for hip replacement is one who has severe arthritis, and her pain is no longer being controlled with medication that we would commonly use, even some prescription arthritis pills. So when her pain is getting bad enough that those medicines aren’t helping her, and she is not able to do some of the things that she wants to do, then it’s time to think about surgery.
