The brachytherapy is a very fascinating process because it essentially was developed for women who did not have the time or availability to do straight beam radiation, and what they found after a five-year study was that the brachytherapy is as effective as the traditional beam radiation. It’s not an option for all women. It was for me, and the great thing about it is that it’s, it’s difficult for a very short period of time, and then it’s over.

Having the device inside the breast, it stays there for a period of a week, so it’s uncomfortable to sleep and it looks unusual and strange and kind of freaky, but when it was over, it was over.
