Glynis:

After I went through the lumpectomy, the chemotherapy, and the radiation, I got follow-ups from the Mayo Clinic every six months. For about the first five years I would go to Mayo and they would thoroughly check; they would give me mammograms. After I got the mammograms I would meet with the doctor in the breast center or the breast clinic and she would do a physical exam and so, they would look at blood work in order to determine that the cancer was in remission.

And so, it’s been about, six years now and five years, at the five year mark that’s the cripple point. They say if you can make it through your first five years without having a re-occurrence then, chances are that you’re going to be pretty lucky there to go a little further without having any type of re-occurrence from the cancer.
