My friends came to me. I did call a couple of friends and the circle just got bigger. And after the surgery, the cards from the office signed by people I did not even know knew who I was because I worked for one of the larger agencies at the state. Having flowers from a male associate who I did not think even hardly knew who I was and then having an old boss from another agency write me a note and say, “You can come back anytime,” that gives you goose bumps.
