Michele:
It was really devastating. I kind of always had a fear of
cancer because my grandfather died of
stomach cancer and my grandmother and a couple of aunts have had
breast cancer, and I was always afraid of it, and when I was first, when I first went into the doctor, I was assured it wasn’t
cancer, that I was too young to have
ovarian cancer, that it was just a benign cyst or a fibroid or something, and it wasn’t until two days after surgery that when the pathology came back that I was told I had
cancer, and we didn’t know at that point really what stage because she hadn’t been looking other places for
cancer because she didn’t think I had
cancer.
