MONDAY, July 28 (HealthDay News) -- Large-scale studies should be conducted to determine the exact link between sleep apnea and heart disease, says a joint statement from the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
The statement was published in the journal Circulation.
"There have been a number of studies on sleep apnea in the last decade, and those looking at cardiovascular diseases and their associations with sleep apnea are especially compelling," Dr. Virend K. Somers, chairman of the joint statement writing committee, said in an AHA/ACC news release.

MONDAY, July 14 (HealthDay News) -- Maintaining proper blood sugar levels after heart surgery is essential, whether one is or isn't a diabetic, a new study shows.
The British report, published in Circulation, shows that poor blood sugar control in post-heart surgery patients is linked to a fourfold increase in death and major complications, such as heart attack, neurological, kidney, lung and gastrointestinal injury.

Every now and then, for no apparent reason (emphasis on "apparent"), I feel an annoying, painful, pins and needles sensation in my big toe. It's usually only one toe, usually my left big toe, that gets this.
Doing a search online, I found all sorts of possibilities. But, I really didn't fit any of the symptoms. My symptoms are momentary, sudden, annoying and painful. Of the possible causes, a lower back problem fit the best.
Has anyone ever felt anything like this? Did you consult a chiropractor or neurologist? Which helped?

Cupping is an ancient technique that involves attaching jar on to the skin by way of a vacuum. The underlying tissue is raised, or sucked, partway into the cup. Its purpose is to restore circulation, help relieve pain and pull toxins from the body tissue. You will feel a tight sensation in the area of the cup. It often feels very good on tight, achy muscles. The cups may be left in place for 5 - 15 minutes. Cupping causes the skin to turn red, blue or purple, especially if there is an energetic blockage under the cups. The skin discoloration may last anywhere from a few days up to two weeks.
