So we have all heard about Gay Pride. Black Pride. White Pride (ok, so that last one isn't so, uh, respectable but you know what I mean). We see bumper stickers saying Proud to be Irish (no DOUBT!) or proud to be... whatever you are.
Mad Pride is a growing movement of people with mental illness. They have had parades in several countries including England, Australia, the United States and Canada. They have organizational links in Africa.

WASHINGTON (AP)- Depression, teens and marijuana are a dangerous mix that can lead to dependency, mental illness or suicidal thoughts, according to a White House report being released Friday.
A teen who has been depressed at some point in the past year is more than twice as likely to have used marijuana as teens who have not reported being depressed — 25 percent compared with 12 percent, said the report by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

CHICAGO (AP)- The federal government's new advice to doctors for helping smokers quit recommends the drug Chantix, which has recently been linked with depression and suicidal behavior. The new guidelines mention the psychiatric risks but also say the popular Pfizer Inc. drug is the most effective at helping people get off cigarettes.
The guidelines mention other options, too, and highly recommend combining counseling and medication. But doctors are encouraged to talk to all smokers who want to quit about trying medication.

I have always eaten healthy, proportional meals and was never overweight.
As a child I learned martial arts, gymnastics, and dance. In high school I found cheerleading and wakeboarding. I was always active and a honor roll student.
My parents told me and my sister that we were getting divorced my junior year, six months after my dear grandmother passed away. I was stunned, angry and numb. My grades started to slip and I couldn't focus. I realized that my boyfriend was distracting me and we broke up.
