Sharon:

I’d like to share with you how the initial feelings are; what you feel physically when you are not on dialysis or when you have kidney disease and you need to begin. It causes fatigue; you feel very tired, very unable to sleep at night. It just works your body.

When I started the dialysis, of course there is a fear that comes with it, but it’s alleviated after a little while. It takes about a month to start feeling better. When the toxins are removed from your body you begin to relax with it more so. It’s not fun. It never has been fun, but it allows you to live and it allows you to feel free and so, after a while you begin to notice that you feel better, you have more energy and you are able to get through the day better.
