hi
my daughter, now age 9 1/2 gets hives too. she's been getting them for a few years now. we've never been able to figure out what causes them. i suspect some shampoos and shower soaps, so we use only all natural now. there never seems to be a correlation with food.
i do think it may be an anxiety response. different people act out their stresses in very different ways, and skin condition can be a really common one. most M.D.s don't think of this right off, but personally, i think it's the ticket for my kiddo.
when she gets hives now, i think back to what's been happening in our lives, i try to calm things down for a few days and give her lots of love and attention. they really do seem to go away faster, spread less and she of course feels good being well cared for.

i'm a huge believer in the mind-body connection. you can go crazy trying to figure out what the trigger is, but if you just realize, hey, something is out of balance, what are things we can do to feel better, get more connected and calm, then it's actually an easier problem. there are no side effects either. i didn't like giving her benadryl or zyrtec and not even knowing what was wrong with her body.

i hope you can find some relief for your child too. i know it's a tricky problem. good luck!
