Hi Liza, periods have nothing to do with ovaries. It is the lining of your uterus that is shedding itself every month. Ovaries release the eggs which, when fertilised, attaches itself to the uterus lining. That is why women menstruate when they aren't pregnant, because the uterus lining renews itself every month!
