I have to agree that these reality shows are so deeply entrenched in fantasyland that it's an insult to the REAL housewives of America.
Another show that I find disturbing, so I don't watch it, either, is the wife swap one. Where do they find some of those folks?!

We the public have long had a desire to lose ourselves in a bit of fantasy, now and then. Go back to the old films (when you had to use your imagination to figure things out) circa Bette Davis, Joan Crawford et al, who portrayed strong, independent women forging their way through life. Those "real housewives" of Atlanta, OC or anywhere else can't hold a candle to even the imaginary women. Who would you want to aspire to?
