Being from the great State of Ohio, it is time to start to bundle up and get ready for the freezing winter months. During these cold months, many people decide to spend most of their time inside and do not get outside enough to maintain their workouts.
I am fortunate to have a workout room that offers free weights, a weight machine plus I also have a treadmill. So since the dreadful time of the year is approaching fast, I wanted to share some information on how to keep physically fit even inside the home.
If you are fortunate enough to own some workout equipment, be sure to try and maintain a workout regiment that consists of three days a week of some kind of activity.
You may also join a local gym. Joining the local gym entitles you to the healthy lifestyle as well as maintaining social interaction with others. If you are like me, I tend to have seasonal depression which just causes a depressive mood and lack of energy that becomes debilitating. Joining the gym is a fantastic way to keep your social skills at their peek.
If there is no workout equipment at home and the money is limited to join the local gym, you may also workout on your own using your own body weight. Do some crunches, walk up and down your stairs, do some stretching while you are watching television. You can also do some leg lifts just using your own body weight.
Forbes.com also provides some information on how you can workout at your desk at work. That information can be found here http://health.msn.com/fitness/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100215490.
We all can try and make this winter a successfully healthy one as well as maintain our depressive moods by keeping our minds off the dreadful ‘winter blues’.

I know that I tend to gain the extra pounds during the winter time since I hate cold weather and every year, I wonder why I live in the Midwest.
This year I am making a pact with myself, not to let the extra pounds get the better side of me which would be my back side. HA!
