I can see the excess TV viewing and depression/sadness being a reciprocal relationship as well. I know if I'm having a particularly sad or lonely day, that I watch more TV. I try to take a quick nap during my lunch break, instead of watch TV, because I figure that my body needs some extra relaxation and rejuvenation, and doesn't need to be fueled by the negative programming or negative commercials (the commercials during the day seem to be targeted at women, and we are told that nothing is right with us: we need new makeup, new wrinkle cream, new clothes, new bra, new car, new husband.. LOL)
