I can speak for Acai because I use it. It is really a superfood and there is science behind it. According to a recent publications by the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry on a study of acai, it states that for that first time research involving people, the acai (ah-sigh-EE) berry has proven its ability to be absorbed in the human body when consumed both as juice and pulp. This finding is credited to a team of Texas AgriLife Research scientists and their work was recently published in this journal. This is very important because there is validation to this fruit's benefits as it contains numerous antioxidants. http://pubs.acs.org/ This site also has good research on Kefir.

My suggestion on acai is to stay away from capsules, liquid form and powder products that claim to have acai unless it is the main ingredient and you are willing to share it with other fruits, sugars, etc. Most of the other ingredients will dilute acai. So read the labels carefully. Your best bet is to get the pulp which is sold in frozen form at Whole Foods or online directly from this company. You will never see the actual fruit in the United States. http://www.sambazon.com/products
