I couldn't agree with you more about birth control pills causing vulvar pain. I've had this pain for 4 years and I finally found a doctor who had more advice than "just don't be stressed out" and do pelvic floor exercises. This new doctor I'm seeing feels that my pain was caused by birth control pills, the pill that caused my pain was yaz. She did blood work on me and discovered that my testosterone levels are extremely low. Finally, someone with a clue as to what could be causing all my pain! I am now applying an estrogen/testosterone cream every night to my vulvar area and I'm supplementing with Testim gel that I apply a pea size amount on the back side of my calf every day. This is supposed to get my testosterone levels back in the "normal" range. For the first time in 4 years, I was finally able to have sex with my husband without crying. I can't believe it. For so long I couldn't remember what it was like to be pain free. I'm hoping that this therapy will continue to work for me, as I just want to live a normal life again. Please everyone, get your doctor to check your blood work. If he or she doesn't believe you or think your hormone levels could be an issue, then get a new doctor! I've learned that not all doctors are created equal. Good luck to all of you!
