Q:

If you cramp a week before your period, spot then bleed heavy for two days and spot after are you pregnant?

I started cramping a week before my period was due. I was spotting for two days then I began to have heavy bleeding for two days. After the two days of heavy bleeding I began to spot for two days and then nothing. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. My mom and sister thinks it may be to early to detect pregnancy but i think I'm not..although the period was not as heavy as I'm used to and the fact that I don't usually get cramps during my period. Should I take another test? Is something wrong with me?

Hi
My last menses was on 26th dec so I was ovulating on the 9-12 of jan, I had some abdominal pains on the 9th jan and was diagnosed with UTI (I personally suspect the pain came cos I had started ovulating). I had intercourse the next day which was the 10th. I am expecting my period on 26 jan but since 19th jan I have been feeling very tired, my boobs size have increased and have been so sore that I just remove my bra when I head to bed, my appetite increased to that of two, I have headaches throughout the day and occasionally feel dizzy and light headed, I urinate a lot through the day and I just couldn't sleep well even if i didn't have to urinate I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking that the alarm didn't sound and that I was late for work, my emotions are going crazy and I could even smell my husband's dirty sock which I don't usually notice. I took a home pregnancy test yesterday but it turned out negative. Today I started having cramps, when I visited the ladies I noticed a single light pink/ brown spot then when I went again there was this bright pink/reddish brown blood. It is still 3 days before my expected period. I have never experienced any nausea or vomiting. I have never had any premenstrual symptoms before so I really think that I am pregnant (have this really really strong gut feeling). Could I be pregnant just that the hcg in my urine wasn't enough when I tested?

Thanks in adv =)

Hello,
My last period was Dec 28th. My cycles are very regular lasting from 28-30 days normally. Jan 17th, I had light brown spotting which I thought could be implantation bleeding. Jan 18th, it turned to light pink spotting. Then in the afternoon, I slipped and fell hard on my shin. In the evening, I started having heavy vaginal bleeding with a few small clots. I'm 7 days before my period should come. Today, Jan 19th, I still have heavy bleeding, maybe a little less than yesterday. I haven't had any cramping either, which I usually do with my periods. Any thoughts what this could be? Am/Was I pregnant? Did I miscarry? Should I go to the Dr?

Thanks,
Heather

Hello Heather,

I am concerned that you are having heavy vaginal bleeding with clots. To be safe, call your gynecologist today. It could be a miscarriage but your physician will determine that.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi

I had spotting for two days than heavy to light bleeding the following 5 days. I have never spotted before my period ever, although I had a D&C 1 month before. I also had unprotected inter course with my partner 2 weeks after my D&C. What could this type of bleeding be ?
