Hi, Anon,

So sorry you're stressed. Let's see if we can put your mind at ease a bit. If we look at it one step at a time:

-- One time you didn't use a condom, but did take your pill. For you to have gotten pregnant that day, it would be astronomical odds: (a) you would have to be ovulating AND (b) the pill would have to have failed you (you didn't say which pill you are on, but most are about 97% effective). Also you say this was a "few" weeks ago -- is that right? If so, you've had a period since then, right?

-- One time you missed a pill, but you didn't have sex. So, no problem there.

What you're experiencing is mid-cycle spotting or mid-cycle bleeding. That's not a sign of pregnancy. You might be ovulating; occasionally that causes mid-cycle spotting or pain sort of like menstrual cramps. It has to do with a sudden rise and fall in hormones, which is natural. About 30 percent of women experience it at some time or another.

Here's a page on mid-cycle bleeding:

It honestly doesn't sound like you have anything to be worried about. And I'd like to applaud you for having safe sex, using both the pill and condoms. Well done.
