Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much for visiting the website and for posting your question to us.

I'm so sorry that you are dealing with night sweats right now. They are just the worst. I've had them and what you are describing brings back so many memories. I kept a stack of sheets by my bed, mine were so bad. Changing your sheets at 2 a.m. is not so fun, let me tell you.

I agree with the posters above. I think it's time to get in to your physician for a check up. What you are experiencing, both in terms of your night sweats and your lack of interest in sex, could both end up being explained by other things, like a hot room, and/or stress or something. But they could also be caused by a hormonal issue, or from what I've been finding online tonight, caused by your birth control pills.

For example, here is a blog-type post by a woman who takes microgestin for severe cramps, but she says it makes her sex drive "zero":

So it's possible that the pills are causing the lack of sex drive, although I know you have taken them for some time. But even though you have been on that same type of birth control for six years now, I am wondering if you have had a dose increase or possibly some type of change in the pills? When you go in to see your doctor, please bring your current package of microgestin in with you so he or she can confirm that it's the right dosage for you.

Please post again and let us know how you are doing, and what your doctor finds out. I would ask for a complete check of your hormone levels and go from there. Best in health and big hugs to you, Michelle
