One of my best friends from school days had everything going for him: personality, looks, talent, wealth, great family, lots of friends. Little did anyone know that, beneath the perfect smile, lay a demon he could not control. He took his own life by jumping off a bridge into the harbor. Many of us felt guilty about what we might have said to make him crack, what disappointment did we unknowingly cause, how we could not have seen "the signs" that something was not quite right. What he did not have: hope.
