It is interesting that 3 periods in a month is not necessarily a health concern; something many women will benefit from learning. (Please note: each woman who experiences this should call their doctor individually, as this would still be considered "abnormal bleeding" and only you/your doctor have all of the information regarding your personal health history to know what the possible cause(s) would be).
