Hi,
Just to confirm your question and dates:
- You had unprotected sex March 8th, and had a period April 7th.
- Now is May 12th (you accidentally wrote "March"), which means this is day 36 of your cycle (as you said, a week late).

Did you have unprotected sex any other day, besides on March 8th?

I am trying to think of a situation in which you could be pregnant, if you only had sex on March 8th, and had a period on April 7th...and can not come up with one. If you have not had sex after your period began, it is highly unlikely that you were ovulating around March 28th and became pregnant, to then have a normal period---that would not be a viable pregnancy.

According to most medical resources, a cycle that is longer than 35 days is considered "abnormal" (nothing to worry about; just the name means it's not the norm). I would suggest calling your doctor's office, and ask a nurse if you need to be seen with a period that is a week late...I would want to know at what point they would want to see you.
