Hi, Anon. So glad you found us at EmpowHer.

Sure, what you're experiencing is just irritation from the texture of the condom having friction against your skin. The tissue in the genital area is sensitive, and yours may be more sensitive than that of others.

(In the same category would be rug burns on knees or elbows, for instance, when having sex with a partner on the floor. We simply aren't used to the friction of the rug on our skin.)

Did you use any lubricant when you used the textured condoms? I am wondering if something like that would help protect the skin.

Maybe keep both kinds of condoms around -- plain and textured -- and see if using one kind, and then the other kind, would help. If not, you may just have to use regular condoms and perhaps experiment with different positions to help with your stimulation.

But in the meantime, yes, just know that it's normal for you to be feeling what you're feeling. Don't hesitate to speak up to your partner if it's just not working for you. Sex should be fun, and it's not fun when you hurt.
