It is amazing what a make-up artist can do for me. Yes I was stuck in some bottlenecks twice by each of the productions in town and not a call back, which of course irritates me.
You do have to have a thick skin for the Biz. Last year I was rejected for a Halloween comercial for hands, that they said my hands weren't knarly and old looking enough. The casting call was for women over age 50 with veiny hands. Let's see no job but thanks? That's show biz.
