For those who don't know, chrondrosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that develops in cartilage cells. It's actually the second most common type of "primary" bone cancer -- which means cancer that actually first develops in the skeletal system, as opposed to developing somewhere else first and metastisizing to the bones from elsewhere. It's most common in older adults.
Have you had surgery?
Physical therapy?
Chemotherapy?
Depending on what grade of chrondrosarcoma you had, your prognosis will change. How early you found it matters a lot. For patients with Grade 3 tumors, about 29% of patients live more than five years. For the least aggressive grade, which is Grade 1, about 90% of patients survive more than five years after diagnosis. And recurrence usually occurs between 5-10 years after the original tumor.
