Dear Valentinej, I am so sorry you are going through so much physical pain and agonizing over a decision to amputate or not. From your posting I should assume that the knee replacement was on the same leg. Have you got a second opinion? Was the replacement successful by medical standards? From what you describe, it sounds as if the replacement itself may be putting pressure on a nerve or ligament. Have you had an X-Ray done on that knee lately? I suggest you looking at getting a second opinion before rushing to a drastic decision such as amputation.
Why would you need a second ankle fusion if the first one was successful? I am not sure I understand the whole picture. Maybe what you need is to have that second opinion or consider another option for pain, Acupuncture comes to mind.
