Thank you for your question. Since you missed more than one day of your pills, you should consult your pharmacist about how to either use them to catch up or you may have to start a new pack. It depends on the kind of birth control you use. The pharmacist should be able to assist that question.

Anytime you miss taking your pills, you are risking pregnancy. In your question, it appears that you had sex and then two days later missed the pills. You should be safe. If you are having sex now, you should be using other types of protection until you are regular again on your pills. When you start your pills, they always recommend using other types of protection for at least 7 days. You may want to follow this again.

It is common to bleed if you miss your pills. When you start on the sugar pills in your prescription, you have your period. It is the same with missing your pills since your body assumes that it is ‘period time’.

As for taking the morning after pill, it is effective usually ‘the morning after’. I think by the way your question is asked, you may be over that time also.
