Hi, Anon, and welcome to Empowher! Thanks for your question.

And first, may I say that lots and lots of women would be envious of your 5-6 week cycle time? Especially those who have a period every 21 days! (I'm sure you have heard this before!)

Yes, it's possible you're pregnant, though the dates show it a little bit unlikely. Here's why. Regardless of how long our cycles are -- whether they are every 3 weeks or every 6 weeks -- we still tend to ovulate about 14 days before our period starts. (Once ovulation happens, the timetable is much more consistent than before it happens.) If you expect your next period to be July 8, then that tells me you were probably ovulating this week, not two weeks ago.

However however however, one thing we learn pretty quickly at EmpowHer through answering women's questions is that our bodies have minds of their own, and hormones can change their minds at a moment's notice. If you had sex two weeks ago and perhaps then ovulated a little early, it's possible you're pregnant. Sperm can survive in the body for about 3-5 days, and if there was some there when you ovulated, it's possible that fertilization occured.

I think more likely is that you're ovulating now, and for some reason you're having these symptoms. Some PMS symptoms seem to actually mimic early pregnancy symptoms, and it can get confusing.

Are you hoping to be pregnant? Or hoping not to be?
