Hey, Joan, welcome to EmpowHer. And thanks so much for your question.

This is a tough one, isn't it? You're an experienced traveler and you already know a lot of the precautions to take regarding heat, hydration and how to avoid foreign water, etc.

You mentioned humidity in your title; is there a reason you think the humidity might be a part of the sudden sickness?

I am wondering if during the last two years something has changed for you that makes your trips into the heat harder on your system. A medicine, perhaps? A dietary change? Weight gain or loss? Something that you have started taking along with you, like a specific juice or protein bar? Do you use anything like water purification tablets that might have gone bad?

When the vomiting happens, do you have any other symptoms that could be related to heatstroke? Do you have chills, or fever? Are you sweaty, or cool to the touch? After you vomit, do you feel some better immediately (as though you had to get something out of your system quickly) or does it take a while? Have you noticed whether part of the recovery has to do with fluid intake or just plain coolness and rest?
It's interesting to me that it's almost always in the evening, especially as that's not the hottest part of the day.

Does any of this sound like it could be relevant?

I'm sorry your family is getting frustrated with you. They need to stop! This is no fun for you! Send them over to EmpowHer, and we'll try to help them see our side of things. =)
