Exactly one week ago my boyfriend took my virgintity, we had unprotected sex (which was completely stupid) and for the past few days I've had gas and a slight stomach ache. I thought it was just something I ate but I can't just dismiss the fact that there could be a baby starting to form. I told my mom she was completely dissapointed but supportive.. I'm almost 17 and I'm terrified

Hello Anonymous,

I am so glad that you were able to share this with your mother and that she is supportive.

When is your next period due? There would be a risk of conceiving if this happened five days before or on the day you ovulated. Generally, ovulation occurs about 14 days before the start of your next period.

Though it is hard, please try to relax. Stressing out can cause your period to be late.

You can take an early response pregnancy test as early as five days before your period is expected to start.

Levels of hCG, which is the hormone produced only during pregnancy, can be detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception. It can take a fertilized egg about 6 days to implant in the uterus and the hormone to be produced.

I am telling you this so that you do not test to early.

Do not hesitate to return if we can be of further help.

Regards,
Maryann

My next period is due the around the 22nd, so i guess I'm ovulating now.. Is that or good or bad thing ? I'm trying my best to relax but I'm scared for my future, Idk what to think.

Hello again,

It's a good thing, because you were not ovulating last week when this happened.

Now is a good time to look at all the birth control options and chose the best one for you.

Regards,
Maryann

I've been feeling bloated every time I have unprotected sex with my husband. The thing is I have more then 7 months without my period I've had blood work done and not pregnant even several pregnancy tests. My doctor says it is normal to not have period for a while since I moved to a new country I'm just so worried and stressed out to the maximum. Help.

Hi Anonymous,

Seven months is a long time between periods, unless you are in perimenopause. During perimenopause, estrogen levels fluctuate and the menstrual cycle becomes irregular.

Maybe it is time for a second opinion.

Maryann
