Hi, Jess. Glad you found us here at EmpowHer, and thanks for your question!
I'm just a little confused by the dates. Is this correct:
Friday, July 3 - period started
Sunday, July 5 - you were supposed to start pills on Day 3?
--During this time, you had unprotected sex --
Tuesday, July 7 - two pills
Wednesday, July 8 - two pills
From what you write, it seems like you were probably protected from pregnancy, by taking two pills two days in a row. There is a chance you would have gotten pregnant, but it's a small chance. Most birth control pills have a 95%-97% success rate when used properly. The fact that you were late on a couple of pills means your percentage wouldn't be quite as high, so there's a possibility. But I'd guess that it's low.
Can you tell me if you are stressing yourself out about this? Are you thinking a lot about it? Because high stress can totally affect our cycles, and I'm wondering if you're feeling these symptoms because you're really worried.
