I don't understand your fear, as you could not possibly be pregnant without sexual intercourse. The websites you've been reading are for women who have a missed period and have had intercourse; thus, it is recommended that they take a pregnancy test.
With this information, now can you talk with your mom, and tell her your period is late? Tell her you are worried, so she can help. Many girl's and women's periods are irregular, and 3 days late is likely nothing to worry about.
A normal cycle can last anywhere from 21 to 35 days long; a teen's cycle can be up to 45 days long! (How you can know the length of your cycle: the day you start menstrual bleeding is "Day 1", and you could how many days until your next period starts. Then, that day would start over with "day 1" again).
