I know many many women who had babies after 40. It's becoming more commonplace it seems as women wait to have children or have additional children after that age. Like others said, as long as you are under the care of a doctor and get good prenatal care, that is the important thing.
Is this your first baby? Whether it's your first or fifth or even more it's still exciting! I think your friends will be happy for you. And if anyone says anything negative to you just remember the replies here and know in your heart that this is a wonderful thing. Please keep us posted on how everything goes!
