I'm sorry your daughter is suffering from this condition. My first reaction was that too many doctors, in my experience, have chalked unexplained pains suffered by women to stress or anxiety. Whether or not they really understand root cause, who knows.

You mentioned that your daughter is an avid athlete. I imagine she was probably asked whether or not she suffered any unusual injuries during her sports activities. Has she been examined by an orthopedic specialist for possible bone fractures, by any chance? Has she ever been tested by a physical therapist or trainer for weak abdominal muscles? I'm just asking from an athlete's point of view.

Or, has she ever suffered irritable bowel syndrome or problems with her period?
