Hi,
Honestly, since you asked if you should get this checked out...I definitely would. Pain, numbness and tingling feelings could be a sign of something, or of nothing. But, it would be wise to have the numbness evaluated, as this is concerning to me, especially since you mentioned a family history of heart disease.
Unfortunately, you mentioned that you are uninsured, but many clinics, hospitals and doctors offer "self-pay" discounts to uninsured patients, as well as payment plans. Be sure to talk with the financial/business department about this before your actual appointment!
You sound like you have a good exercise routine, and 20 pounds overweight is most likely not too excessive, where it would be overly concerning or the primary cause of your symptoms, so again, talking with a doctor about your symptoms and ask about exercise recommendations would be a very good idea.
Let us know what you find out at the doctor's office!
