I had the same symptoms. It has been almost 6 weeks since my flu shot and I am happy to report that my pain is almost gone completely. I took pain killers for the first three days. I was putting heat on my arm but my doctor recommended cold compresses. The most important thing I can recommend is that you do not stop using your arm, in fact I was told my doctor to hang my arm forward and rotate it so that I would not get a secondary injury called cold shoulder. I also stopped lifting things with my left arm, stopped sleeping on my left side and I believe most importantly stopped focussing on the pain. If I move my left arm to the right quickly I can still feel pain and late at night in bed I may notice some discomfort but it has pretty much gone away which is a great relief. I read several reports and messages and replies about medical advice and noted that the symptoms should be gone by 8 weeks. This has worked out for me and I hope you have the same results. Frustrating and upsetting but hopefully the nerve damage by the flu shot will not be a reoccurring permanent issue. Good Luck!!
