I wish we could entertain you! And by "we," I mean all those of us out here who know you through your articles here and your blog. If we could, we would act out skits in your hospital room that would make you laugh so hard you would beg us to stop. We would tell you jokes, bring you our favorite new books, and sneak in cupcakes. I would bring my three collies to visit you -- they keep any day from being boring (but I guarantee you they will be all over your bed, so watch out!) We would bring bad celebrity magazines and read the worst parts out loud. We would bring outrageous shades of nail polish and experiment with one color on each finger. We would have wheelchair races outside in the hall, until the nurses made us stop and behave ourselves. We might get you in trouble, but it would not be boring!!
But we're here. We read you every day. We take heart from your rockstar attitude. And like you, we want that really good news to be right around the next corner. We, too, are imagining you well. Keep up the good fight. You may feel alone sometimes, but really, your room is full of us, too. Thank you for keeping your door wide open.
