First, I'm sorry to hear about your toe problems. They can be very painful! I live in Arizona so I can completely relate to your desire to not wear shoes, especially around the house. On the other hand, I've stubbed my toes more than once, and each time it's reminded me that exposing my toes makes them vulnerable.
You might look for some toe covers in the hosiery section of a department store. They would give a little bit of protection. Otherwise I don't have any good ideas, but perhaps some of our other members can chime in with suggestions.
