If the only two times that you could have become pregnant both occurred in August (sex and genitals near each other), and then have had a menstrual period in September (for 6-7 days, "heavier than usual"), then there would be no chance of you being pregnant.

Your worry about being pregnant due to heavy bleeding...it is actually the absence of bleeding that would be cause for concern (of being pregnant). Heavy bleeding is not an indicator of being pregnant.

Good for you, for using a condom! Be sure to use a condom each-and-every time you have sex, as well as when you have any type of genital-to-genital contact. Your partner's penis can have "pre-ejaculatory fluid" on the tip which may contain sperm. This "pre-cum" (slang) may/may not be visible, but is almost always present on the tip of the penis when it becomes erect.

Your period may be irregular, and that is normal. Your cycles can be different lengths (occuring at different times of the month), your menstrual flow can be heavy or light, the blood can be brownish or red. You can experience PMS, cramping, bloating, moodiness..or nothing. All of these are normal.

Have you considered using any other type of contraceptive or birth control, since you are sexually active?
